Hair transplantation is more than just a physical transformation. It boosts self-confidence and allows patients to regain genuine emotional well-being. This is the message conveyed by New Hair Graft, a center of excellence in hair restoration and transplantation founded by Dr. Arthur Movsisyan and Dr. Daoud Ingar, two renowned specialists each with over 25 years of experience in the field. On the sidelines of World Wellness Day, celebrated on June 14th, the center, located at C-Care Grand Baie, opened its doors to the media on Wednesday, June 11th, 2025, to showcase its personalized, human-centered approach, featuring a unique patient journey. A psychologist specializing in personal development, a dermatologist, and former patients were present to discuss the importance of feeling good in your body to feel good in your mind.

Hair loss is often difficult to cope with. The onset of baldness can indeed generate – in both men and women – a profound sense of vulnerability, leading to a decrease in self-esteem. Aware of these psychological impacts, New Hair Graft has developed a medical approach based on listening, empathy, and the patient's overall well-being. From the initial consultation to the end of post-procedure follow-up, the center places physical and emotional well-being at the heart of its support. More than just a cosmetic procedure, the objective is clear: to restore not only hair, but also self-confidence.

“Even though attitudes are changing, hair transplantation remains taboo for many. It is therefore essential to talk about it to end the stigma. Hair loss is a real source of distress—even suffering—for many adults. For them, hair restoration goes beyond aesthetics: it contributes to mental well-being. For us, it is part of an integrated medical approach, the goal of which is to help each patient regain self-confidence and no longer fear their reflection in the mirror,” explains Dr. Arthur Movsisyan.

With over 25 years of combined expertise, the founders of New Hair Graft have performed more than 12,000 hair transplants together. Drawing on this experience, they champion a multidisciplinary and holistic approach where the patient's mental well-being and attentive listening are as important as the aesthetic results. "Hair transplantation requires proven expertise and specialized training, key elements that guarantee the quality and safety of the results. It is therefore essential to rely on highly qualified and experienced professionals. I myself underwent this surgery, which allows me to fully understand the feelings and journey of a patient who aspires to a hair transformation. From this experience stems a genuine empathy, the cornerstone of our approach. As a doctor, the greatest reward is witnessing a patient's improved self-image," says Dr. Daoud Ingar.

The treatment process begins with a medical consultation with one of the two specialists. This initial assessment determines the most appropriate treatment plan. Generally, the first visible results appear six to nine months after the procedure. Medical follow-up extends over a period of up to 12 months. Consultations, provided exclusively by the two doctors, are free of charge throughout the entire treatment process.

Trained at leading universities in France, Canada, and Russia, the two founders practiced internationally before becoming pioneers in hair restoration in Mauritius. Dr. Arthur Movsisyan is the only hair transplant expert and a full and active member in Mauritius of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, which he joined in 2008. Committed to ongoing professional development, they regularly attend international conferences to remain at the forefront of innovation. New Hair Graft offers the most advanced techniques, such as Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE). This method, currently the least invasive and most effective, involves extracting individual follicles from the donor area and implanting them into the balding area. It provides natural-looking results, without visible scarring, and a rapid recovery. PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy, which uses the patient's own plasma to stimulate regrowth, is always combined with FUE to optimize results.

New Hair Graft's approach is comprehensive. Eventually, the center will integrate other medical disciplines such as dermatology and endocrinology to address the complexities of hair loss. The range of treatments also includes beard, mustache, and eyebrow transplants.

Since opening at C-Care Grand Baie, New Hair Graft has welcomed its patients in a modern, private, and calming setting. The goal is to make this accessible to as many people as possible, especially the local community. Its garden and café area offer a warm environment conducive to peace and tranquility – so that each patient feels heard, respected, and caring.
